Easyjet has announced expansion plans at Edinburgh and Manchester airports, with a total of 11 new routes across the two airports.
The carrier will base two additional aircraft at Edinburgh, enabling it to offer new flights to Berlin, Hamburg, Prague, Copenhagen, Reykjavik and Dubrovnik, while at Manchester Easyjet will base one extra aircraft, serving flights to Reykjavik, Venice, Antalya and the Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini.
The carrier will base the first additional Airbus A319 at Edinburgh from December 2, with the second aircraft arriving in March 2013, while the additional aircraft to be based at Manchester will commence flights on February 14, 2013. Launch dates for specific routes are listed below.
Edinburgh-based travellers looking to reach Germany will be particularly interested by the news, as there are currently no non-stop flights between the Scottish capital and the cities of Berlin and Hamburg.
The expansion will see Easyjet serve a total of 29 routes out of Manchester, and 30 from Edinburgh.
