Signed by the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Communications, Makis Voridis the decision exempting the use of airports payment of fees, paid by the airlines in return for services provided to them in the process of landing and permit aircraft to all airports in the state, except the International Airport of Athens, ‘Eleftherios Venizelos’.

The decision concerns the period from April 27, 2012 to December 31, 2012.

The fee does not cover the so-called ‘Spatosimo’ (Airport Development Levy) and other taxes normally paid by airlines. This measure aim is to increase the flights, scheduled, charter and commercial, to the regional airports in order to enhance tourism.

The amount of the use of airports fee is depending on destination, type and size of aircraft, stay at the airport duration, even the day of arrival and departure.
